Mmm....I love the color green, so I'm a big fan of the Olympic bouquets this year made entirely of green spider mums, green hypericum berries & topped off with beautiful aspidistra leaves, lily grass and a soft blue bow around the edge.
But the real wow-factor is how awesome the florist is that made them. They were designed by Just Beginnings Florist in Surrey:
"Strandberg says what she will be most proud of is not the stylish, contemporary look of the bouquet but the fact that it has been made by some of the 'marginalized women' — recovering drug addicts, ex-prisoners and abused women — who take part in a special training course she runs for novice florists in the basement studio below her shop."
After winning the bid to create the 1,800 bouquets for the Olympics, Strandberg & her team made 23 attempts at a design, all of which were shot down by the committee but finally they landed the official design.
