Fall Shop Transition: Burlap & Lace

Can you feel those cooler temps starting to roll in? (Cooler being a relative term, ha!) We're still in the 90's but at least we're out of the 100's! Aaaand it's almost September. Which means it's almost FALL!

And we loooove fall flowers.

But it's not just fresh flowers that get all the love - we've been transitioning the front over now as well and our silks and home decor is just as pretty! For instance, take this awesome combo we've recently fallen head over heels for:

Burlap and lace, baby.

ALL THAT TEXTURE.

(We're texture happy people.)

We've got more pics lined up for you, but for now we'll just tease you with that sweet & simple beauty. :)

Our shop is featuring this knockout combo all season, so be sure to check it out!

Back from the Flower Show....

Back from the flower show at OKC's Greenleaf!

(And let me tell you: their new building is amazing.)

Not to mention our designer for the evening, Vonda LaFever, was also amazing. Greenleaf & the Oklahoma Board did a fantastic job of bringing her in and hosting a lovely inspiration workshop for the state.

And not only is Vonda a tops designer, she is so nice. Absolutely engaging personality, fascinating to watch and learn from, and also, quite funny.

Wonderful job for everyone involved! It was super fun, Greenleaf's new coolers are top notch and the place looks remarkable.

Let's end on one of our favorite arrangements from LaFever:

But I love anything with green glads and orange roses. :)

Flower Show Tonight!

Tonight we're running off to Greenleaf's "Everyday Sensations" flower show! We're excited & ready to be inspired by our fellow designers and what they do to spice up their daily flower orders.

Plus, we can't wait to see Greenleaf's brand new beautiful building!

Greenleaf is our wonderful wholesaler in the city. It comes down to this: the more space & better coolers they have, the better product we receive, which means the more long-lasting and gorgeous arrangements you receive! We're excited to see what they've come up with to improve product for everyone. Can't wait!

Don't worry - I'm sure there will be plenty of pics to follow!

Olympics: The Victory Bouquet & Opening Ceremonies!

We can't wait for opening ceremonies tonight.

The Victory Bouquet - Loving the colors & the herbs! So perfect!

And of course, part of what we love about every Olympic season is seeing what is chosen for the winner's bouquets!

Be sure to check out this article on Flowerona for all the breakdown on whats in these beauties. The elements for the victory bouquet can be quite restrictive in terms of size & shape, so its always fun for us to see what creativity can develop within those guidelines!

Inspiration Feature: From Across the Blogs....

If you've been following our Facebook, you know we've started weekly offerings of inspiration we find from across the net. The reason why is because anytime we have down time at the shop we're searching out the latest and greatest trends in the floral industry and we wanted to share! We come across a ton of awesome possibilities for weddings (or events) and since we spend all this time looking for them, we feel its only right to pass along our pretty findings.

We love the traditional elegance, we love sleek modern, we love bright colors, soft colors, geek chic, steampunk, tropicals.... we just love anything with flowers. And thankfully now with blogs we have such great opportunities to celebrate the cleverness, wisdom and ideas from so many brides!

Last week we featured this lovely, traditional soft pink wedding that we oo'd and aah'd over the elegance.

This week we featured this Bohemian styled shoot which shows off a gorgeous headpiece that essentially functions as her bridal bouquet! Just a touch of kale to carry and give your hands something to do.

Keep checking out our Facebook on Tuesdays for another dose of inspiration!

Annoucement: Brides of Oklahoma feature!

Did you know we're being featured in the next magazine of Brides of Oklahoma?

Did you?

We're pretty excited!

And not only that, but they've chosen one of our bouquets to be part of their Countdown to the Cover segment. Check it out here! (We have all oo'd and aah'd over this particular bouquet.) They'll be releasing the cover on Wednesday and we're excited to see what local bride they'll be showcasing this time.

One reason we're so excited to be a part of Brides is because we love what they're doing. Featuring local florists, cake designers, photographers and fabulous brides from our state? Yes, please! They release a spring & fall issue featuring real weddings that let designers show off their work from across the state. So we always highly recommend it to our own brides looking for inspiration - where better than from your own? The great thing is that the magazine features everything from drop dead elegant to bright cosmic colors to, yes, rustic barn elegance.

And (again) as always for more inspiration, be sure to check out our hand-picked blogs to the right. We follow these ourselves for keeping up with trends, styles and lovely floral fashion and love sharing our finds with you. These blogs feature from all over the world, so there's no doubt you can find your stylish soulmate there.

We can't wait to share our feature with you, so keep checking back here for details!

Froggie Friend!

Aw... we had a cute little froggie come visit us today at the shop! :)

He was hanging out in our plants. But don't worry - he's safe & sound back outside in the fresh air! But he sure made our morning bright! :)

We'll miss you, froggie friend!

Composite Roses

Ooo..... brides, what do you think of carrying a composite rose for your bridal? We think they're gorgeous!
A composite rose consists of several roses put together to create the effect of one giant rose. (In this smaller case, three.) They remind us of the rose in Beauty & the Beast! What do you think of using them as your bridal or for your lovely bridesmaids? :)
Composites are starting to make a comeback. You can create them out of several different flowers - gladiolas, (known as glamelias in this style), calla lilies, cymbidium orchids, carnations....

They can be labor intensive and therefore can be a little more costly, but the effect can be stunning! What do you think?

It's that time again - time to thank your favorite Administrative Professional(s)!

While Wednesday is labeled as the "official" day for this annual thoughtfulness, it really does last all week long. We encourage the idea of sending a bouquet early so your employees can enjoy it all week!

We've got some great fresh flowers in just for the occasion as well as plants. (And speaking of plants, be sure to ask about our spectacular hydrangeas in right now. They're some of the prettiest we've ever seen!)

The Return of The Easter Lilies

The Easter lilies have returned in full force! These fragrant beauties are not only beautiful in your home for Easter, but they also do wonderful outside. They're lovely bulb plants that return year after year.  If you do decide to plant them outside, they're very hardy but tend to bloom - in the summer! They have to be taken special care of to force them into bloom by Easter, so don't be surprised if they bloom long afterwards outdoors! :)

Easter Sunday is this Sunday - April 8th! Don't be caught off guard! :)
