OKC Stems & Bunches Show

August 31, 2010

Pam & Bob had fun last week hanging out with other florist friends at the Stems & Bunches show in OKC. They went up and spent a few hours at Teleflora headquarters getting to actually meet all these wonderful people from S&B we talk to on the phone!

On the left is Linda Gervais from Ann's Secret Garden in OKC and on the right is Kathleen, our Stems & Bunches representative! More on her later.

Hanging out with all the guys...

Gorgeous...

We love Kathleen! She makes our day! We love to sit and talk with her about all the awesome flowers S&B keeps in stock and how we can use them to benefit you guys. She rocks!

Callas

Speaking of black calla lilies, let me show them off with a better background! Are these not beautiful? Black Schwarzwalder's! Love. Love them.

These are going to feature in an upcoming wedding we have, so keep a look out for them in the upcoming months!

Also coming up: Pam & Bobby went to Teleflora's Stems & Bunches show yesterday in OKC. Pictures up soon!

Zoo Amp Update

August 27, 2010

The Zoo Amp almost always sends fresh flower arrangements to welcome bands coming into their theatre and we have the joy of providing those flowers!

This week we had the honor of designing for Ann & Nancy Wilson, the sisters of Heart! Since most of our shop is huge Heart fans anyway, this was a real honor. Pam & Bob came back raving about what an excellent concert they had put on with Cinderella.

Here's their arrangements for you to enjoy as well! :)

I love the orange roses in this one, especially the one curling down the vase!

This one sadly didn't photograph as well... unfortunately with that black background you miss the black callas lilies that are tucked in on the left side! That's a shame because they were absolutely gorgeous.

Sympathy Work

August 21, 2010

We specialize in sympathy work, so people ask a lot if it's hard to work so closely and constantly with death. Actually, we consider it an honor to build your last piece for your loved one and we do our very best to make it just what you have in mind. But you don't necessarily have to have any ideas when you come in either. If you want something high style, we can do high style. If you want something out of the country, we can do country.

It is truly an honor to be of service to you at a time its needed most.

Here are some ideas from what we've been working on lately.

This small piece will later be placed on an urn for a memorial service. I love those orange roses.

And here is a casket. I'm sorry the picture is not better - we were rushing to get this one! Again, the roses here are just spectactular. Two perfect bi-colors.

Blog Feature: Our Favorite Weddings

August 11, 2011

Hello all! We're featuring one of my personal favorite weddings today. When the bride came in with midnight blue, tangerine orange & lipstick pink as her colors we were ready for the ride and what a gorgeous ride it was!

I mean, the bridal bouquet alone is worth salivating over...

Orange and pink callas, hydrangeas & roses with delphinium accents.

And the bridesmaids held smaller versions:

Oooo....aaaaah...

The ceremony was held at St. Paul's Methodist Church which is a beautiful church. Notice the way these colors reflect that gorgeous stained glass window in the background.

The altar piece:

For the prayer rail:

The aisle candles:

And the overall views:

And then they were whisked off to the reception site at St. Gregory's Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art (also gorgeous) where the guests mingled not only among each other and the bridal company but the museum as well! The tables were filled with cubes of callas, hydrangeas, delphinium and roses all in the collaborating colors.

And the head table pieces:

Beginning to shape up....

And I can't leave without telling you about my favorite part! The couple had catering brought in from Dave's Donuts on Kickapoo. Dave's made tiny penguin cookies for the reception! They were adorable!
And then I fell in love with this guy:

We decided to name him Gui. We just loved him!
